Lab Service Case study

Genmed is involved with a number of Trusts to manage all general consumables in pathology.

A particular Trust is a Teaching Hospital and has a number of MES (managed equipment services), with the major chemistry companies.

Genmed project award involves managing 900 suppliers and represents annually over £4 million of spend. None of the current MES providers wanted to take on the complexity of this area.

Genmed will provide a managed service to take on this area of spend as part of its Laboratory Services model and have elected to provide and implement an inventory control system to manage the large number of suppliers and the scale of ordering.

This will also improve the quality of reporting and validating of deliveries and enhance our reporting services to provide management information faster and with greater depth of data.
